Birgit Kehrer, Director at ChangeKitchen, is passionate about tackling food insecurity, as discovered when she caught up to speak with GL events UK.

ChangeKitchen is a Birmingham-based Community Interest Company that provides cooking advice and makes healthy meals more accessible to communities who need it most. Founded in 2010, ChangeKitchen offers creative menus that are vegetarian and vegan-friendly. A sizeable amount of their work involves providing work opportunities and training for individuals who face social exclusion and supporting them back into mainstream life.

Along with several other local organisations, GL events UK has partnered with ChangeKitchen in the run-up to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, with the wider ambition of delivering social value to the region.

Following through on their commitment, GL events UK is proud to support ChangeKitchen’s delivery of healthy eating training sessions for disadvantaged and deprived individuals. Similarly, ChangeKitchen will be assisted by GL events UK to expand capacity and extend the outreach of their social enterprise programmes.

Stay tuned for more developments on this exciting partnership. In the meantime, why not learn more about the inspiring work of ChangeKitchen, and the profound impact that their social enterprise programmes are having, by checking out their website.
